Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Command
- The EOD Command of the Nigeria Police Force is also known as the Anti-Bomb Squad
- It was established in the year 1976
- The EOD is an off-shoot of the Nigerian Civil War. Its establishment was informed by the need to recover and demolish bombs buried around the country during the civil war.
- It has a staff strength of 1,851 trained EOD Technicians/Investigators spread across the nation to protect our critical national infrastructure.
- The EOD Command is saddled with;
- Identification, recovery/evacuation and demolition of unexploded ordinance (UXOs).
- Detection and identification of radioactive materials out of regulatory control
- Physical supervision, security and monitoring of movement, usage and storage of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive materials
- The parade is commanded by ASP Samuel Samuel
